Jelly Park

 Last Friday my class went to Jelly park for the day. We had to go on a bus to get there. When we got there we had to get into our togs then we put on sunscreen then we jumped into the water it was cold at first but when I put my head in the water it got warm I was in the water for a bit then me and my friends went on the hydroslide the first one went fast then the second one was slower but it had bends in it. I had fun but I got out because I got bored so when I got out I went and had a sleep on the grass. Then at the end of the day we went home.

Zones

 Last Tuesday I went to Zones. I made it for long jump sprints and relays. We had to be at school by 8:45am when we got to school we had to get a sports t-shirt and a sport jacket Then we had to wait for all the other people to get to school and get their sports uniforms on. When everyone was ready we had to line up so that the teacher could do the roll. Then we had to walk down to rawhiti domain and set up the gazebo. Then I had to wait for my first activity which was at 11:30am. At 11:30am Me and Jayden had to walk over to the long jump pit  I was scared but I did pretty well I got 3ed I think i'm a reserve for long jump. Then I had to wait till 12 for sprints when sprints started I was nervous I had to wait for my race. When I was running I heard all the kids yelling at us I came 3ed. Then I had relays in my relay team I had Me William Jayden and Angus. We had a good start but then we were in last when I got the baton I ran as fast as I could and managed to get 3ed. On 2end of December I will be going to canterburys for sprints and I think i'm a reserve for long jumps.    

Athletics day

 Athletics Day

Yesterday we had athletics it was cloudy. First the year 7 and 8s done middle distance I was in 2nd the whole way but I didn't want to go to zones for middle distance so I stopped just before the finish line and let some other people go in front of me. Then we had discus I throwed 16.7 meters Then we went to shot put I didn't get told how far I throwed. Then we  had morning tea at morning tea I played with my friends Lewis and William. After morning tea we had high jump I got 2nd in high jump I forgot how high I jumped. Then we had long jump I got first I jumped 4.27 meters. Then we had my favorite sprints I won every race that I was in and I won the semifinals I won them as well then we had last break at last break I played basketball with my friends Lewis, William and Sid. After last break we had the finals for sprints first the year 4s went then the year 5s then the year 6s then the year 7s I was in the year 7 finals I was nervous but I had to do it. I was running and I herd people yelling my name I came first. Now im going to zones for high jump long jump sprints and relays. But I think I can only pick 2 or 3 things to go to zones for.  

Helping The Little Kids

 Every Monday Tuesday and Wednesday Me My Friend Zaza  and some other people from my class go down to the little kids class to help out. We help them read sometimes write and sometimes we go and play on the playground with them. It's pretty fun to talk to the kids about what they did on the weekend and most of them work really well but some of them act silly and are a bit rude but the nice ones are always fun to work with. 

Sailing

 Yesterday we went sailing on lake Rua. It was kinda fun. First one of the people there showed us how to put together the boat then we had to get in to groups of 2s or 3s. Me, William and Sid put together a boat. We had lunch then we pushed some boats into the water and lernt how to sail then Me and some of my friends went and sat down for a bit.

Skiing

 Yesterday some people from my school went skiing,. I went with my friend Sid and his Dad in there car and the other people went in the bus. On the way the there Me and Sid got maccas and powerade and his Dad bought us some lollies. When we got there we had to wait for the bus to get there when the bus got there we had to put on the ski boots and get our skis. Then we had had to go do some lessons then we were aloud to go to the other ski field. I fell off heeps but it was really fun.

 

Science

In Science Me and Lewis have been working on our garden plan. So far we have planed out what plants we will have in our summer garden we have some ideas for our winter and spring plants. We haven't got that far into it but I think that it will look good when were done.   

The Dawn Raids of then 1970's

This week in Literacy we have been learning about The Dawn Raids. The government made a statement that the over stayers had to go back to where they came from.

The cops went to the over stayers houses at dawn and arrested them and sent them back home. The word dawn raids meant that at dawn the police would go and raid homes in the early morning.

The Polynesian Panthers became the voice of the Pasifika People who told them about their rights. It was not only the Polynesian targeted it was also the British.   

My Opinion 2020

   OPINION 2020

Legalising cannabis. My opinion is that it should not be legal but people that are sick should be allowed to use it for medical use.

End of life. My opinion for the end of life opinion is that it should be allowed so people don't have to be in pain and can say goodbye to loved ones.

 Our project is about creating a new product for the NZ market. I looked at the video clips that told me what emotive language was. I found it was more of a persuasive language. I have one more video look at.

Tech

Today was our last season of tech I finished codeing and cooking. I dont know what im doing next week. Codeing was kinda fun if we got 30 coins in a jar we got 30 minutes on the computer. I didnt like cooking coz the lady was allways angry. Hopefuly next week will be fun.

For the last one and a half weeks we have been moving plants from one pot to another pot. Its been really boring but I had to to do it. BYEEEE

Should Matariki be a holiday

I think Matariki should be a holiday because its a part of the Maori culture.   

Save the eels

The eels homes are being destroyed by paint and waste. The fumes and gas from cars goes in to the gutter down the drain and into the river. A thing that you can do to help is wash your car on the grass so not as much soap goes into the drain.

Maramataka

The Boat

One day in the bathtub I was playing with my lego boat I made waves in the bathtub. The boat's captain Zaza was yelling the waves are to big were going to sink. But the crew said no we're not captain but then as the crew said that a enormous wave hit the boat the captain said this time we are actually sinking. Then they all jumped overboard the captain yelled we forgot our life jackets. they all drowned.

Gardening

Iv learnt that gardening is not just planting stuff but making boxs for the plants. we have had a lot of food out of the garden today we are having peach crumble and we have had 2 min noodles with bok choy.

The aircraft

As the wind tried to force me and my friend off the wing of the aircraft we grabbed the wing and closed our eyes. Then Zaza saw the Statue of Liberty it was an amazing view. It was hard to breathe because of the air pollution. We saw the police then we realised it was a bad idea hopping on the side of a plane.

First day back at school

Today we walked into school and we had to wait until 8:30 am. I felt both happy and sad with a whole lot of mixed emotions running through me. Will my friends still remember me? What will class be like?



My friends remembered me and we played some basketball. Class was kinda the same but there was a little difference but I will get used to it. I was sad because I knew it would be different because of covid 19.

Tech

Yesterday my class went to tech for the first time in 8 weeks. It was like going to tech for the first time i couldn't remember where to go. In my first group I did cooking and made french toast it was really good. In the second group I did mechatronics and made a drawing that we are going to 3D print them. THE END

Bear hunt

I have two bears in my window they are MY MUMS and they are really old. The big one is called Benjamin he is 1 meter tall and brown. The other bear is called Pinky and Mum got given this one when she was born.

Camp

On Thursday my class went to camp at Spenser park. We had to walk or bike there I biked there it was really tiring the bikers had to put pink ribben so the walkers know were to go. when we got to camp we had to find are stuff that went in the school vans then we had to set our tent up it was hard to set up my tent but my friends Dad helped me set it up. Then we went to a big bouncy pillow it was really fun on it but some one landed on my ankle and it hurt. then we had to make tea I cooked with my friends we made burgers they were yum.

Tyre Run

Today our class did a tyre run on the back field. A tyre run is where you have a team of 10 and your team has spots were they have to stay there till your team mate passes the tyre to you and you run to the next team mate. It is basically a relay race using tyres. It was really fun. 

Swimming

Every day are class goes swimming. Today my swimming group had to do free style one way and back stork on the way back then we had free play in the pool. most of the time we were trying to wet the teachers. Then we had to hop out the pool and get dressed then we went back to class.

My first day at Technology

Today was the first day of tech it was really fun. The first class I did was cooking it was really cool. In cooking we made wraps and in my wrap I had put tomato, lettuce, cheese, mayonnaise and carrot then we wrapped it up and ate it for lunch. For the second class I was in mechatronics when we went in to the class room there were heaps of robots. But we didn't get anything done because everyone was talking.               

This week at school

This week at school I made no new friends but I had fun. It was a big step up from last year but im geting the hang of it. iv got better at my hand writing and math.
